Today I test drove the Bolens , FAILURE :wallbanging:    Keeps jumping out of gear.

Maybe it has something to do with the "tweaking" that you did to it. It's hard on a small transmission like that, to run tires bigger than what it was originally designed for.

Looks like the problem is the shifting forks are all rounded off and lost there spring tension so they won't lock into the forward gears anymore. The center 110 has 26 "  rear tires .

Todays progress in the workshop shows some of the black stripes on the hood and side panels . I am so enjoying not working on something green and yellow :dancingbanana:

Once the parts come for the Bolens next week I can get it back together and test drive it for the third time. Then if it works i will get all 15 tractors out for a group picture.

With the fall cool weather the Deere are starting to move in my backyard. I have seen 15 at one time and hope to get a pic of all 15 in the next couple days

Don, I know you said you were looking for a mid size used zero turn for the hydro rear end.

Not sure of your budget, but maybe this would work for you from surplus center, I just happened to see them looking for somethng else. Brand new, both left and right units.

Thanks for the headsup,

Yes , I been looking at those too !!   I just think I will spend the extra money and get a running unit with a bad deck . I saw one yesterday for $2,000.00 and almost called on it . It was no in our area or it would probably be in my yard right now.

Deere herd grows to 15 in my backyard this afternoon . After putting out apples and corn we lurded all 15 deeres in :dancingbanana:

Deb is downloading a you-tube video of all of them at don campbell models , video number 182.

No, the Bolens will aways be a Bolens, the color of it's outside means nothing , it is what is inside that matters

My 1000 lb Forward lift table arrived today . I will get it assembled this afternoon . :dancingbanana:

If I remember right, the big articulating "John Deere" isn't really a John Deere either, it's a Steiner. But I guess no one cares since it isn't a Bolens.

Bottom line, if you come to my house you will be confused most likely

Now I have to stop everything before I pick up number 16 tomorrow and put a lift kit and offroad tires on the old gas grill , the stock wheels have failed me :deadhorse:

Even though it is a Craftsman I am still undecided on the colors :wallbanging:
