Glad to here it's warming up, we've been in the 70's for the last 3 or 4 days and the next 10 days are going to be in the 70's again!

It is in the 40's here all week and were all so excited !!!  :dancingbanana:

We got minor flooding and mud but next week I should be back in the workshop , Oh Yea !

Today we drove to a area JD Dealer and they had a nice Curtis cab on a similar tractor as mine.

It was very roomy inside and the doors opened and closed very solid. The all glass doors style is out of Canada , a company called Tech-tite . That is the style I like , it is $1,000.00 more but this is my last tractor and last cab so I want what I want. By late summer I will make the decision what to do . This one is $6,000.00 with heater, wiper and cab lights. Next week I will get back to work in the shop, oh yea !!

Not my money, but I'd never give that much for any cab.  Heck, I bought a 145HP Massey 2745 complete with cab/heat/AC ready for the field for just $7500.

Hey Don, I checked into the farm mag you have been pimping last week. I signed up for a free sample ($36 for 6 issues is alittle out of my price range until I check it out) and today I got a cool catalog for tractor parts. You working on commission?

I get a free issue , ha,ha.

Today I finally made it back in the workshop . I got some new mower deck wheels for the jd ez-trac . I had to twek them just a bit because the old center pins were very worn out, but that is what I enjoy doing. Now two brand new wheels installed for under $8.00

I had my own lawn care business for over 16 years. This time of year I think of the long list of customers I used to have to maintain their lawns . I always kept my tractors and truck clean. I built three lawn trailers for the business and I was always tweaking something.

It warmed up in the 40's so I changed the fuel filter on the JD 430 and bled the fuel line and it fired right up and ran great. Now hopefully we will get a couple more spring snow storms so I can try out the snowblower and the new cab. I used this snowblower on the jd 455 but never on this tractor . This blower actually came with the 430 when I bought it .

Today it snowed in Gaylord for the tenth time in March. I decided to fire up the jd 430 and try out the new cab and snowblower for the first time. The snow was so wet and heavy and slushy the single stage blower tried but did not work the best. So I just pushed the snow with the blower and it worked great with those nice side wings I made. Then I cleaned out the auger by hand of the packed snow. I'm getting desperate as two more days it will be April 1st :dancingbanana:

I did a couple small projects in the shop but it has stayed pretty cold .

Today I turned around the jd 455 on the lift table and put the Ariens 2 stage snowblower on it . I am tweaking the mounting brackets to fit this tractor for the first time. I have four snowblowers and the forth one will go on one of the jd 110 round fender tractors this spring. Here also is my plow for my truck that was not used at all this winter. This plow I bought new with my truck 19 years ago and it only has about 5 hours use on it . It sat in my garage for several years not being used at all.

I got out some black paint and painted the augers on two of the snowblowers this afternoon . I also applied four JD decals on my Home Made cab but I'm afraid it still looks very home made :wallbanging: :wallbanging: :wallbanging:

ha,ha,ha Not true !!  I have a dozen ideas about every week and I only do about one every couple months , ha,ha.

It got cold again so I'm not in the shop again. We got more snow today and our old snow has still not melted. Next week maybe in the 50's , yippee !!

We finally got some 60's !!!   Every spring one of the first things I do is touch up the plows so they don't rust. Even if the paint doesn't match perfect I like to get that bare metal  covered up.

There , a couple cheap paintbrushes and a hour and a half and some left over paint and the blades look much better. The snow is almost gone in my backyard.  Time to take the bucket off the mini loader and put the forks on . A sure sign of spring !!
