Some of you know who came to my plow days, but my bro-in-law, Fred (member Meangreen) had an accident Saturday morning getting set for plow day.  Just simply slipped on the dew wet dovetail of his Dad's trailer, slipped & fell.  When he put out his hand to catch himself, it broke both bones in his arm, just behind his wrist.  He had told me severe fracture after he returned from the hospital, but turned out was actually a major break and he was playing it down.  When he fell, his hand was 90 degrees of his forearm!   He pulled it straight & went to his couch & yelled for Denise, his wife.  By the time she walked in there his wrist area was swelled way up & he was sick in his stomach.  Trip to hospital where they stabilized it & sent him home, with surgery set for today around noon.  All went well.  He has 1 plate & 10 screws now, so he's a walking hardware store.  6 to 8 weeks off work.

Moral of the story is, always be careful, as even very simple things can get the best of you.  We've all fell, but most aren't so unfortunate to break bones, but it can happen any time.

It sucked knowing it happened. He seemed to be in good spirit and still enjoyed the plow day as much as he could. I am glad to hear his surgery went well and hope for a speedy recovery.

Man! That sounds painful. He ploughed with 2 broken bones! That's dedication! If he was using his 430 it must have been tricky with only 1 good hand and the hand control for the hydro to deal with.

Sounds like he will recover well if he stuck to the plan of going to plow day hurt.
I have walked off many injuries to attend a tractoring event, all be it not as serious.
