I do not know anything about it, besides;

it is NOT "blown"  turns over feels like it has good compression

it came off of a "Marquette" brand starting unit; think "jump pack" on the back of a tow truck

I scrapped out the starting unit

It is magneto under-flywheel ignition

there is no model/spec number tag on it  I had the numbers at one time written down, but do not any longer

it had the gear reduction starter on it but I don't know where that may be at the moment it does not have a recoil starter on it

It would be good for someone that needs a block, if theirs blew a rod and screwed up the block or something, I do not believe it has much run time on it

the crank is short, stubby, and tapered coming out of the block

I was gonna buy an NOS crank from member rrmeidl and stab in it then look for a Troy Bilt Horse that needs a motor to put it on.....but I need another project right now like a hole in the head....

theres a guy on CL right now (who's crazy) who has a K181 from a JD110 round fender, has a blown rod and he wants $225 for just this blown up engine.... I don't think I'm that crazy.  How's $40 plus the ride (definitely prefer local or semi local at least) pickup.... I live  just outside of Kankakee IL

You are killing me!  That's what I need from the '68 110 rebuild, especially the magneto parts.  Perhaps fam could pick it up when they come out to visit.  Dad drives 24 across Indiana and Illinois on his way west.

US 24 is only 30 miles south of me....  I'm about 1/2 way between there and I-80... looks like a good excuse to come out on a Saturday and see a couple of us from the truck forum  that we're both on... Magnumman isn't that far away from me and he works even closer to where I live...   Got one of those '68 Furys ready to go yet?

update; I went and looked at this, I do have the electric starter with it (but taken off)  the carb is what's MIA. It "was" there when I got this motor. at the moment don't count on the carb as I do have another motor I can use it for

elec starter not been tested/ but its here and clean looking.

 Willing to trade any or all of this engine and starter for a good elec starter for a M8 version of this engine  and/or a shroud, recoil and starter cup, also for the M8

I do prefer a local (at least semi-local) meetup,   over shipping

I will be camping in Oct at Raccoon Lake near Rockville IN for a few days during the covered bridge festival if that helps

Would you sell the magneto pieces off of it?
