I have been eyeing a GT for a few years now and always parked in the same spot with weed grown up around it. It was 65 miles from home and only see it when I go to my brothers to work on the ranch he manages. Well we started Tuesday replacing 2.5 miles of steel coral fence and figured I better stop in and ask if the Craftsman was for sale. The woman yelled out a big hallelujah and said it had brand new tires on the back with tubes and that she had ran the thing out of oil, but that I could have it if I wanted it. Sounded like a fare price I thought so I hauled it home.

While there I spied an implement I thought I would really like to have. It was a sears tandem disc like I had never seen before and imagined the melon patches that I could work with it, so for $50 I loaded it up too. Has one blade missing, but will rob one blade off one of my Brinly's for they look inferior to this bad boy. All in all a good day.

Man, a set of Tandem's and a tractor for $50. Nice job.

Are you going to see it the engine frees up or what's the plan?

Me and L Block Briggs just don't get along, so I will part it out of see if the boy wants to tinker with it. I am not a fan of the shallow decks these had either, so making a mower back out of it is out. My Scag mows much better. The tires were worth the hauling it home.

Great score on the tandem disc, well worth the price of $50, I'd say you stole it

And a free craftsman to boot. But the tires are good.

Good score there! Does that engine have dual mufflers on it? Also, the Black bar on the right is for snow plow controls. I might be interested in those.

KennyP, yes the beast has dual mufflers and yes the bar is for blade controls but I have to return it for she wanted to keep the blade for her new Craftsman. Don't think it will fit the smaller newer ones, but was happy with what I got and will return the bracket to keep her happy. (didn't have the wrenches with me) I thought $50 for the disc was a great deal, but that is the price she set and not me. I try to never price another persons merchandise when looking to buy.

Yeah, if she wants it back, let her have it. Keep me in mind for those mufflers, though. I have one of those engines to put back together before long and need better exhaust for it.
