The morning of 9-11 I was filling in for the morning guy on our radio station in town, I usually did the afternoon drive from 3-6 pm but that week our morning guy had sales meetings in Chicago, that left me to do the Am drive, what a tragic morning.

Heard the reports of the first plane on my way into work, saw the second live on the TV's.

May we always remember the innocent, the heroes, the fallen of that day.

I forgot that I had to redo the computer, but they are on a CD. I might bring some out if folks want, but not all of them. It's a huge file!

Working at the Chief Golf Course in Bellaire Michigan.  The "flower girl" came into the shop and told me that an airplane hit one of the towers in NYC.  I turned on the radio just in time to hear the announcement that a second plane had hit the second tower.  Immediately went home and watched the towers fall with my kids who had came home after schools were closed when the second plane hit.

Yes they are.....haunting in fact.  I was outside doing farm work when Teresa came & told me.  I came in to see on the news, and I was shocked, dumbfounded......just horrified.

I have over 350 pics on the CD. Some are not of the Towers. Here's one I found very touching.

I was at work and went into a co-workers office to ask her a question on a project we were working on.  She told me about the first plane and then a minute later we found out about the second plane.  I just went back to my office in dis-belief.  It took me days to come to terms with what had happened.

At the time I was working for the City of Chillicothe, MO Street Dept.  We had a bunch of wind in the previous two days and My assignment that day was to clean up an old tree that was half dead and several branches had fallen with the wind and part of the debris was blocking an alley.

I remember that awesome wind because it knocked a huge willow tree down at my dads place and somewhat flattened his 1964 and 1/2 Mustang.  The '68 Mustang my brother drove in high school,  and the '71 Vee Dub Beetle my sister drove in high school also recieved some moderate damage.

I was working with a younger fellow and he always had to have the radio tuned to Kansas Citys rock music station in the mornings and listen to what most would call a "shock-Jock".

I have a different name for that individual on the radio but its not for here.

We had just got a good start on cleanup and I wasn't paying any attention to the radio as I can't stand the guy on there and my co-worker said - "Goldie!  You gotta come hear this!"  The DJ was watching live TV and giving play by play of the first plane hitting WTC.

I walked over to the passenger side door of the dumptruck and started listening to the DJ describe this terrible "accident" of a plane crashing and how its a wonder it doesn't happen more often.   All of a sudden everyone in the [radio] studio started screaming and  it was announced that a second plane hit the second tower.  Everyone in the world knew it was no accident at that point.

We quickly finished clearing the alley so a firetruck or ambulance could get through as we were 1/2 block from a nursing home,  jumped in the dumptruck and headed to the street barn so we could watch it on TV.

We pulled chairs up to the TV in the office and was watching live coverage.  The boss came in and asked what we were doing so I gave him a quick rundown and in one of the very few times he was actually a human being,  he sat with us and watched the live coverage.

I was at work and helping to pull material for a customers HVAC order. As I walked through the parts / sheet metal room one of my coworkers was standing infront of the radio listening. I stopped and asked him what was up and he told me a plane had hit the first tower. As I waled to the front he yell "Oh My God.... a plane hit the second tower"..... I stopped and looked at my boss and said " ...... We are under attack and we will never be the same again..." WE stopped for a bit listened to the radio and answered the phones. All three of our wives called nearly at once. All were upset. My wife was at work as Police Dispatcher. She told me they were on alert and that she may be late getting home that night. Business fell off for the rest of the day. We didn't do a lot except listen to the radio and talk to each other and out companion store down state. A lot of customers called and told us that they were going to be holding off for a couple of days due to this.

"....Our resolve will not waiver, our courage will not fail, our hearts will never forget and Our Country Will Not Fall...."
