I don't think you can really define "normal weather" for northern Saskatchewan, LOL. It is early for the -5 we had, but several years ago we had a killing frost on Aug.16, so I can't complain about this one. I just wish that my 156 acres of oats had had another two weeks of good weather to ripen in. Now they'll lose about two grades and be classed as "light" or worse if we get another hard frost on top of this one. Oh well, the life of a farmer----

According the weather reports I saw last night it looks like many of the northern states will be seeing some cold temps over the next few day's. The cold air is supposed to move east which is just fine with me.  Maybe the cooler air will calm down all the violent weather the mid west has been experiencing.

NOAA is forecasting 25*F for us tonite. That will officially end the garden of '14 since the zuchinni and beans got a lite freeze on their tops about a week ago. I closed the greenhouse for tonite. We still have a few tomatoes to ripen but we've canned all we want in different forms, besides a good friend just loves fried green tomatoes.

No more hard frost but gets down to around+2 almost every night. Supposed to smarten up for the next week or so---about what you'd expect after the damage is done!
