1988 6517 Was a cheaper tractor back then than the sun star.

I am having issues with the belt and mower deck. Now I use it for all my small towing needs, lawn roller dethatched and cart.

it looks like my allis 611 that has a broken input shaft . it also has a tiller that I wish I could use .

I don't think the 6517 could run a tiller. The PTO engagement lever has a spot for mow and ST.

Was a good mowing tractor for me. I replaced one spindle and pulley on the deck when it kept shearing the pulley hold down bolt on the right side. Also about 6 drive belts 2 of which was in 2013 and with in minutes of each other.

Replaced the hydro drive belt twice the last just a couple months ago, Rebuilt the steering drag link when it was 2 years old. no problem since.

Engine has had ignition module changes on the third one now. A fuel pump and the normal oil changes and plug changes. One starter solenoid too.

I have a 7117 with ag tires. It has a 17 hp K motor. It has the hydro lift and the lever on the side for fwd and rev. plus a high low lever. I also have a suburban with a manual lift. I adapted the hydro lift to the Suburban implements and use the hydro lift because lifting the weighted disc was more than I could do. Bottom line I'll take a hydro lift over manual any time now. Then again I am 62 but good luck with your new toy.
