thanks man, so it looks like i need the metal bar with two holes that it attaches too.  i figured the lift rod would be connected to the deck since the deck is what it acdtually does raise, but i'm guessing it raises the front of the deck and is always in that hole regardless.  I will take  a look tonight, thanks again for all the help.

The front lift kit is totally separate from the mower deck lift.

ok, that's what i thought well i did find that the 214 still had the lift bar that goes from the deck lift lever to the square hole so i think all i need is the bar that goes from that square hole to the actual blower

You can find one on Ebay or build one.

You need:

(1) 1" flat stock, 3/16" thick. 12" long.
(1) 7/16 high speed steel drill bit.
(2) 3/8" diameter by 3/4" length drill pin.
(2) Safety clips.
(10) 3/8 washers.

Drill 7/16" hole at 11" on center (equally in from both ends, 1/2") in that flat stock. Since it won't have the second tab to hold the other end of the pin, use the washers to keep the flat stock tight against the lift pivot and blower frame.
