I have had the best luck with the smoke out sticks you light and stick into the runs. They worked fast and complete.

I place a small amount of raw sulphur in one of the mole holes and then light it with a butane torch. I then put my shop vac at another mole hole quite a distance away to draw the burning sulphur smoke through out their tunnel system. The moles leave the area and don't return for years. Be sure to shut off the shop vac as soon as the smoke reaches it or you'll stink up your equipment.

My Moms yard is being destroyed by moles, Reminds me I need to buy her a new curtain rod. I saw a mole digging went inside grabed a curtain rod she just bought and stabbed the little SOB to death.

This thread has given me many new ideas to help her lawn out cause I am tired of rolling it to repair the damage. Although it gives a good excuse to sit in a lawn chair with a beer and wait with a big pole that I sharpened the end to a point for easier penetration.

LOL

They also use that for groundhogs and other ground dwelling critters.

The whirligigs really work great. I get the plastic ones from walmart for cheap. Right now I don't have any because my dogs play with them and break them, my yard is now full of moles. I'll get more and they will be gone. I've had no luck with pesticides to kill grubs.

I have a 6' windmill from HF. Seems to keep them at bay. I've had a few try out the yard, then no more. Lets me know wind speed and direction, too.

I like the 12ga method personally, but I have a scoped 30-30 for the ones that are a little farther away from the porch LOL. Usaully can count on the dogs to git rid of the bodies too, so its a real low effort system lol

A side benefit, aerates the turf!

Grubs = Moles. Try milky spore disease. Kills grubs, moles head to more bountiful hunting grounds.
