I think someone wrapped that Bolans up and put it away waiting on you Brian.  That is a great find and what a great addition to your collection.  Congratulations!

Couldnt help myself, I tested mowing with it today and the deck is nice and quiet, most likely original bearings!

I cleaned it up again then used armor all on the tires :D

WOW... just WOW.... can't say much more. I just wonder if the estate had any other exceptional equipment laying around? Still dumbfounded... hard to believe anything could be that age and still in such amazing shape. Great find!

Hey Brian, if you spray a little bug and tar remover on the front of that deck, it should remove some of that grime for you. Is the steering tower faded, missing paint, or something other, that makes it look like it is so dirty? Would a little polishing compound clean it up better?

Nice snag my friend. Some guys just have all the luck!

Thanks Troy Will Try that out in the spring as I have her packed away for the winter with the seat stored in the basement :D

The steering Tower is made of Cast iron and a little rust is starting to show through. The rest of the white parts are aluminum.

Another interesting turn of events on this machine , the guy who saved this from the scrap yard also found this Brochure from the guys estate!

Its a pretty common brochure but for me its pretty special since this is the dealer this machine likely came from and also the dealer my Grandfather purchased the 1000 and 1050.
