Has anyone converted a 990 to use a foot pedal for direction?  Similar to the Ford 145's?  Doesnt look that hard to do.

And here I thought that you were going to do away with the motor and put Bike Pedals on to power the tractor.

I don't remember seeing any here but there were at least a couple conversion threads over at MTF.

Yes, did it to an Allis 416 years ago HERE.  Worked good, but not all hydro's react the same.  I also converted "Hogzilla", but the pedal was way too sensitive & hard to control, so I went back to hand control.  Actually, "Hogzilla" was a Bush Hog JBI originally equipped with foot pedal hydro, but I put a hydro/diff from a Simplicity Sunstar under it & wanted to go pedal.  It worked alright, but I couldn't get a handle on making it safe to use.  It would jump full speed forward or backward even when being very careful with foot movements.  I've never converted a 990 or anything with the Eaton hydro, so not sure how sensitive it would be.  Just adding a pedal to a 990 oughta be a piece of cake.  But the neutral detent & stabilizing the action might be a different story.

When I built up this 990 into a grader, I put a pedal on it so I could use the lever or the pedal.

This is the only photo that shows the foot pedal.   You can see below the drive lever.
