Tim the Onan is a great torque monster and smooth as silk when running for sure.
Stick with it and keep it maintained and it will give you great service back .
Now all yoy guys say Honda... I say JUNK !!! they are hard to get parts for, WAY too many different models... And are GUTTLESS!! Holy powerless farts..
Good on fuel because it makes no power.
Kohler v twins are very gutsy and easy to get parts for and very easy to work on!! If you maintain them they last a very long time too.
And if you compare cubic inches in an Onan with the same in a Kohler v twin the Kohler will be the victor.
So far you are up on the game and well on your way to a happy tractor with a fresh heart. ;-)

Don't go crazy or else you'll end up like Cat, and we only allow one of those on the forum at a time.

 

I always hated waiting for a machine shop.  Life gets down to a crawl while they are drilling and working.

About another week is what the machine shop says and no way to get to it anyway. Work has me slammed but I sure am wishin.
