84 year-old cousin has had a Shaw DuAll for decades - I'm uncertain the vintage - Briggs ZZ engine.  I've been trying to help him locate NOS or suitable substitute front oil seal for the Briggs, that let go just recently (catastrophically, but engine is OK).  No Briggs P/N's that old out there (have the manual) that I can find so far, and searching through seal manufacturers listings has been a dead-end (even using just the dimensions).

Wondered if anyone on this forum can suggest any sources for vintage Briggs parts?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

Welcome to GTT. As said above for parts. Check our Manuals Section for the " B&S Repairmans Manual". You are allowed 3 free downloads per day. How about a few pics of the machine? Good Luck, Rick

 Welcome to the forum! I would check with the sponsors also. But, there may be a member who has ran into that problem. Give them some time to come along.

The 69740 B&S seal is recognized at Chicago Rawhide/SKF as a  CR #12577 seal.

1.25 shaft diameter

2.25" OD

1/4" wide.

Napa carries CR seals.

Welcome!

It is NLA from Briggs but someone should be able to help you out.

What are the dimentions? I can probably get you a brand new one.

If it is part number 290013, I think I have one left.  I'd have to look for certain.

The PTO seal is a 69740.
