I don't have an y boys playing, but I do have both my girls in the marching band. So it's off to see our Mighty Matadors take to the field and wait patently for Half time.

Maybe you can speed the time clock up a bit?

I have six grandsons playing.  Three different towns, Ironmen, Vikings and Titans, and six different grades from 2nd to 11th grades.  Put all the schedules into Outlook calendar and will try to make at least a few games a week.

We have a game tonight if the storms hold off.    The oldest grandson is a senior this year.  He has been a starter  for every season. He has to play "iron man football" .  Due to the low number of players he never comes out of the game.  Win or lose  we have always been proud of him.     Rick

Another year of reliving those glory days of being pounded unmercifully by a kid who thought he was already an NFL star only because you were fool enough to catch the stupid pig skin.

Yeah.

I was kind of thinking another year for kids to suffer concussions and injuries for the glory of a coach who failed at his own sports career so he drives the kids unmercifully.

I am not anti sports or for wrapping kids in bubble wrap. But I have a couple friends who are in bad shape from high school football.

My youngest is in her last year of marching band and 2nd year as drum major.  She's having a blast but this is my 9th year to chaperone the band.  My oldest was drum major as well.  I must say, I'll be ready to retire when this season is done.  I enjoy it but 9 years is plenty for me.  It was a beautiful night for football around here.  I'm sure many of you heard about the mass school stabbings at Franklin Regional High School in Pennsylvania last school year.  That's who we played tonight.  It's good to see those kids out and having fun again.

Well, The football team started the season just like last year, they lost.. :(  But the band was kicking butt and taking names like every time perform. For their first show, they did a wonderful job.

I feel your pain Brian,  :rolling:  :rolling:

Seriously, my daughter the freshman, started doing flag core this year with marching band. First official game is next Friday. She is really xcited, made friends with upper classman and I think it's good for her.

Stinks though every Friday is a game and she has competitions on saturdays, but my projects won't go anywhere   :D

With all the school funding cuts here in Michigan there are lots of story's in the news of schools no longer having any sports.

In my local town they closed one high school and made it just one. To make it fair to both sides of town they took a new name the Lightings and new colors blue and yellow. their first game was Thursday and pounded the other team 45 to nothing and the other team has been a power house in the league for years.

Watching any HS sports event beats any but the Red wings of any Michigan PRO TEAM.

Our son had his first game last night and it was delayed in the first quarter for an hour because of lightening and then cancelled in the third with 2 minutes to go. We will finish the game at 10:30 this morning. We are ahead 26-13!! The team looks pretty good!!
