My wife, daughter, SIL, three grandkids and I spent last Friday and Saturday (8/15 and 16) at the Buckley MI Old Engine Show.  Rained off and on both days but we enjoyed our selves.

Out of the 1200 plus vehicles at the show there weren't very many Garden Tractors and over half of the ones present were in their work clothes.

The tractors displayed have to be older than 1970 so maybe next year I can have my 196? George Workbird and slightly modified 1953 Copar Panzer ready to show there.

Here are a few photos I took.  Not all GTs but some very interesting steam and oil-pull tractors too.

Thanks for posting. Those steam tractors look heavy. I'll bet they will pull a heavy load.

They do a plowing demonstration at the show.  This video was from a few years back.

Looks neat! Lots of steam there, that seems to be getting less each year at shows. Really BIG ones too!  That sure was an odd little grey tractor with wheel way out front, hard to see drive behind wheel in back, haven't seen one like that before. Looks like ONe big drive wheel and other side a guide one maybe?  That Rototiller tractor is SO cool, too bad he had it covered up with flags tho. I still like the RED panzers best, see couple here. There was a Red one at Portland with wide axle and duals and other changes, but didn't get to see it stopped, was one of cooler ones I've seen.

Thanks for posting. Really wanted to go this year but other family matters came first. Would like to of met with some of the GTTALK folks and  Jdcrawler to see his forklift project and chat a bit. Always a good show and lots to see and do. Thanks again.                                                                                                                    Roger.

Roger,

I looked for jdcrawler while we were there but couldn't locate him.  I will be going back down for the Swap Meet on September 12th and 13th.   Probably take some of my extra stuff to sell or trade for someone else's extra stuff.  No idea how much garden tractor related guys or stuff will be there but will take the chance anyway.

Great photos of some great tractors! Thank you for sharing them!! I love listening to those big tractors and steamers. Especially when they are hooked to a plow.

Thanks for the pictures. I love the big old steam engines. Break into a sweat just thinking about them. Took real men to run them, but it was easier than walking behind a horse. This show is on my to do list next year, hope the schedule allows.

I would love to get back up there...especially if I could coordinate it with some fellow GT enthusiasts. It was quite thin on GTs there last year as well. I brought 5 and I think I saw another dozen or so. I parked beside the Wheel Horse exhibitor pictured above and had a great time. It was my first show taking my wife and son along and we had a blast.
