Redwing black birds are gone at the church and along my drive out. The Killdeer are still around but I don't know when they normally leave this part of the country. Still trying to learn about this new place.

In my travels through out eastern ohio, western Pennsylvania, and northern wv every week I've noticed the leaves are already getting that off green look before they change to fall colors.
There's plenty of hot weather predicted here for the end of the week. I haven't minded the cooler summer, one bit, since I have to work in it every day.
Hard to guess what's in store for the coming winter... Only thing you can bet on is, that it's going to do what it wants to do!
I just looked up a you tube video on field dressing deer. The video was made in the fall of 2013 and in the demonstration the man showed the deer had a lot of fat, saying this was supposed to mean a hard winter was coming. Well, we all know how '13 turned out! Now, let's see how fat the deer are this year.
Indeed there's an east wind coming, making her way slowly from the north and it will not be long before she makes her presence known I love the changing seasons
I fear it is true, on the east coast in Western Ma we have been seeing fall weather for almost three weeks now, i can see my breath every morning for the past two weeks.
Bring it on !! Even though we didn't have a real hot summer, I'm always ready for fall. We've had cooler nights for the past few weeks. Cooler meaning 60's. Better then muggy 70's. AC hasn't been used much either this summer.
You know... Yall are just depressing some of us.. Why all this talk of fall.. and winter.. August isn't over yet.. STOP IT..... Need a month of summer still... I need to split one more cord of wood.. log splitter is gone so this is by hand...
Birds are always starting to flock by late July, saw my first small flock of migratory geese a few days ago, but nothing special as far as I can tell.
