I got the new project pulled in the shop after supper. It is another jd 110 round fender. This one has a working mower and a very nice snowblower with it. I paid $200.00 for it and felt good about that price.

It runs good and i will sand it down and repaint it and get it to shine again. I'll probably change the tires too. I will also repaint the snowblower but it is in pretty nice shape.

I should be able to get it to shine as the jd 110 I bought and repainted a year ago.

Here is todays progress. I got the fenders, the hood , the pulley cover and the seat bracket all sanded and painted . I also repaired three cracks in the hood. I also painted the rear rims jd yellow. The tractor is close to oliver green and not jd green so I am tweaking it a little :smilewink:

Today I hammered out some dents in the seat , filled and sanded them and painted it. Then I sanded the grill and hood support bars and painted them. I also painted more rims yellow. I am now sanding the rear of the main frame. Slowly taking shape.

Thanks ,

Here is a picture of the snowblower that came with it . the sheet metal is in great shape for 50 years old. I slapped a little paint on it today and it looks pretty good.

I bought a one owner Bolens articulating mower yesterday :wallbanging:

It must be old age :dancingbanana:

Just a heads up Don. Unless you are planning on changing the front spindles of this 110, the narrow front wheels that you are showing in the pictures of your first and third posts, don't appear that they are the going to work for you. The 110 spindles are 3/4", and from what I can tell from your pictures, it appears that the hubs on the narrow front wheels are smaller, maybe 5/8"? These 110 front wheels use 3/4" spindle bearings, with an outside diameter of I think 1 1/4". I could be wrong, and maybe you already checked all of this out already, but I thought I'd just try to help you out before you get too far on painting.

Elfman Thanks,

I thought those rims looked awefully wide compared to the other ones . I'm sure I would have found out quick it wasn't going to work. I am actually getting used to the bigger front tires and like them.

Todays progress pictures show the frame sanded and painted and the muffler sanded and painted.

It shines pretty good. I should get it all back together by tomorrow night . That will be the one week anniversary since I bought it

Then I will let it set a week or so before I sand and rub out the new paint. I ordered a spare set of 110 round fenders today and will sand and paint them tomorrow and get started on Monday building the little round fender trailer to pull behind the 110 round fender tractors. :rocker2:

What I do is not really a real restoration , just a little spruce up job :smilewink:

That will look neat to have a round fender trailer to match it.

It is neat to follow you on your projects. Something I dream of doing when I get to retirement age.
