Howdy Group!

I just found this website and I've already recognized a couple of guys from www.mytractorforum.com. For those of you that don't frequent that site, I thought I would share some of my Bolens projects.

This past summer I replaced the worn out Onan in my 1973 Bolens 1666 (QT-16) with a 24-hp Honda. It is a beast! I documented the process with a bunch of photos that I've posted on my web album at this link:

https://picasaweb.go...feat=directlink

While you are there, you'll see other albums of interest under the tab "Ted Miller's Gallery". I built a "new" PTO clutch from two old ones and installed a new bearing in it, saving a ton of money in the process. Also, I put in a custom hydraulic lift system in my G14 tubeframe.

I hope you like my work and that it may be of use to somebody.

Thanks for letting me share it!

Ted

 SnowmanPA Welcome to GTTalk! It's great to have another fellow PA guy here! You're about 35 minutes North of me too! Thanks for the pics. I have questions about your setup. I noticed what looked like universal mounting brackets on the bottom of the new Honda. Did you make them, did they come with the new engine, or did you buy them after-market somewhere. Also, did the new muffler come with the setup?

Hey All, thanks for the kind words. Caseguy: I fabricated the mount brackets that I bolted between the engine and the rubber mounts. I recycled a flat bar that I pulled from an old mower deck that I parted out. As for the muffler, no it wasn't included. I bought it separately from the engine from Tulsa Engine Warehouse. They are online and on eBay.

Thanks for the reply Ted! I looked them up. Looks like a good place to get engines too! I'll post a link here in case anyone else wants to have a peek! Click Here
