Did Wheel Horse Make A 801

hi all, got a call from a gibson collector i know, hes got what he says is a 1971 wheel horse 801 as part of a deal, pull start , deck, says it in pretty good condition, but i have been looking up  that number to no avail on the wh list, i have not seen a pic so i probably need to go see it, but he says it has 801 on the side, any info will help, pics of your would be great thanks

I found their thread and theirs was made in 1990.

An 801 would have been made in 1961, if at all. They gave up that naming system sometime around 1968.

No 801's

In 1971 there was a 800 Special...8hp Briggs with 4 speed (3 forward, 1 reverse). Model #1-0150

You are correct, that numbering system expired in 1967 and 1968 started a new numbering system.

Those 800s weren't they made when most of wheel horse went on strike
