Doing something simple that I have done many times over (Changing a flat tire) I went to lift the tire into the trunk to take it to the tire shop. Something popped in my shoulder! The next morning I could barely drive, had to shift with my right hand, really wished I had an automatic that day. Got a Dr. appointment the same morning (that surprised me). Doc said I might have a torn rotator cup, gave me a shot and some pills, said to come back Monday if the pain doesn't clear up and she will schedule a MRI. Well the pain has subsided, and I can use the computer mouse........ but it looks like I need to go in Monday and have this checked.

Baby it, baby it, baby it. IF you can take care of it and avoid the surgery you will be better off. Either way, Good Luck to you, Rick

Pain has subsided, but I do still have some weakness and stiffness. Doc said the bruising was from what ever I tore was leaking.   :(

"what ever I tore" That's her diagnosis, whatever you tore? I think you should get a second opinion!

Torn muscles can do that too.
I tore my rotator cuff 10 years+ and I avoided the surgery with PT.

I figured I can always have the surgery, but if there is an issue, I can't undo the surgery.

Man that looks nasty and painful! The thing I have found with shoulder injuries is that they can feel better a few days after the initial trauma but will start to act up later on when you return to using it normally. I would try to see a sports medicine specialist, at least that's what we call them up here, for a more definitive diagnosis if you get pain when you start using it again.

That is what the ER Doc said today, I am going back to my regular Dr. Monday and get a MRI to see just what I tore.

That bruise leads me to believe you cracked a vein.  Bruises are just settled blood, and if you didn't whack that area, then blood came from somewhere.

Didn't whack it, Shoulder popped when lifting a flat tire and placing it in my car trunk. The "large" bruise concerned me this morning when I saw it, showed my Wife and she insisted I go to the ER, Er Doc said "Yep" something is leaking, see your Doctor Monday. The arm is feeling better, almost normal today, only a twitch on certain movements. Bruise looks worse as it is getting some yellowing tinges.

That looks like what I call a "trash man injury".

Not sure what the real term is but lots of refuse department workers get the muscle pulled lose from the humerus bone on one end due to lifting heavy trash cans to dump them in the trucks.  When I worked on a trash truck I had to occasionally lift 55 gallon drums full of oil soaked floor dry.  That and the smell was my least favorite part.   It was a very short career before I moved onto greener pastures.

  :(

Best of luck to you!
