What's an Arc FEL in good condition worth? It's on a Wheel Horse D200 . Engine runs well but tractor doesn't move.

Does the hydro make any noise? It could be the travel/free wheel valve is open.

A friend purchased one of those that wouldn't move. Changed the filter and cleaned the screen as I remember and it works fine now.

Good luck with yours.

Hope it's nothing serious. That's a beast of a tractor.

The not moving should be a good way to talk him down on whatever price. The hydros can be rebuilt at home. Its intimidating but very do able. Common problems that cause no or slow movement:

1: Engine to hydro pump coupling

2: Low/no hydro oil

3: Freewheel valve stuck in open position

4: Hydro system is toast

5: Broken pin on travel control handle

6: Busted gears in transaxle

I bought a basket case D200 2 years ago. It busted the pinion gears in the transaxle and took out the hydro system. I just finisehd mowing my 1 acre yard with it. Parts are available for most all of the tractor. The parts for the hydro are available from a shop in MI.

If you want a beast of a machine and a front end loader, pick it up if the price is right for you.

PS, I think I have about $200-$400 tied up in the repair parts for mine.

folger,

That was one awesome deal for a tractor and FEL, even if the tractor has issues

I know that we talked in PM, but for what you have in that Wheel Horse, if would be WELL worth the $$ it would take to get the hydro working and using the FEL with it instead of using the FEL with the other tractor that you mentioned.
