I am new here and was wondering if it would be possible to tell what model MF12 Hydro that I have.  I have owned this tractor for about 20 years or so and I am curious as to the model, the serial # is 1446510196.

Thanks

Welcome. To my knowledge it should be a 1971. Not 100% thou. Just getting into this series of tractors.

here is a photo  of my MF12 Hydro.  She looks a little rough now but hopefully she will be brought back to her glory days soon.

It has been awhile since I posted my progress on my MF12 and thought I would share my progress. I have got her painted up and it is going back together slowly. The engine I chose was the Lifan 15hp with 18amp charging system. The engine has been installed and has been fired up for testing, all seems to be good. I do have one question I hope someone can answer. This engine came with, what looks to be a regulator and I am unsure how it hooks up. I did find 2 black wires and a white one coming from the engine itself and the regulator has 2 brown wires a white wire and a black wire coming out of it. Any idea how that is to be connected or if I even need to install?

I have also added some Picts of my tractor....

I put a 13 hp honda clone in my 12h.  It looks to be the same motor but mine didn't come with an extra box so I can't help you with that.  One thing you will want to be aware of is the exhaust will not work very well as it is set up right now.  When you put your hood on it will suck in all your exhaust fumes and will not run well.  I ended up putting a stack on mine.

I thought about that jpegram. I have made an exhaust that puts the exhaust outside of the engine bay. Hopefully this will work, I still have to add the muffler and some kind of mount on the outside of the tractor.ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412198196.083197.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412198216.417130.jpg ImageUploadedByTapatalk1412198227.649788.jpg

Here is a better picture of the wires from the box and wires on the engine. If you notice at the top of the pict, sort of hidden, there is a white wire not connected to anything along with the 2 black wires coming off the engine

I'm very interested in hearing of your progress especially with the Lifan engine.  I've seen the ads saying they had the 18 amp charger, but there was also internet chatter that it wasn't true.  I look forward to seeing what you do with her.  Also, here is what I did exhaust-wise:
