greensot,

Lots of questions:

What is the total length of your ride?

Are there any planned stops along the way for food, drink or rest?

Minimum age to drive a tractor?

Will you allow trailers to be pulled behind the tractors for family members?

Reading your posts have reignited my thoughts about driving the tractors across Mi

Thanks,

Thanks,

We start out gathering for a "pot luck" meal at noon, each individual (family , group, etc.) brings hot dogs, brats, burgers, whatever & a main course &/or dessert dish.  I have a charcoal grill & fire pit out there.  Followed by about an hours ride around the farm, field edges & through timber trails, ending back at the picnic grounds, probably driving a mile or so.

Trailers are allowed & as long as youngsters are capable of handling their equipment by themselves it's OK (probably at least 8 yrs' old or so).

I used to do some of the farm tractor cruises in our area, at that time they usually ran around 70 miles/day @ 10 mph (give or take).  With a mid-morning, noon & mid-afternoon break.  I think many of them have cut back to more like 50 miles/day now.  Enjoyed them then, but they were too long in 95-100* weather!  ~~  Lowell

The turnout was light yesterday, but I think everybody enjoyed themselves:  Wheel Horse, Power King, Gravely & Economy, plus my JD & Gator. HPIM1309.JPG  Weather might have been a factor as the guy with the WH drove through heavy rain getting here from IA.  HPIM1307.JPG   Forgot to take pics of the table until after the food was gone, oops!  HPIM1306.JPG

We had some sprinkles before noon, but not enough to hurt anything.  Ride started around 1:30  HPIM1313.JPG  HPIM3204.JPG

Dottie took the lead:  HPIM1319.JPG  then my 420, the Power King, HPIM1321.JPG   Wheel Horse, HPIM1322.JPG   the Gravely w/Kris (Gtractor)  HPIM1323.JPG & spouse with the Economy  HPIM1324.JPG , ending up with a couple wives  & Chief in our Gator.    HPIM1325.JPG

I'll be back later with a few more pics!  ~~  Lowell
