I am just saying ....I bought a used one for $15 at a tractor show.....never charged it and we put it on the tractor at the show.....turned over the TRA-10D with no issues that day.....sat for a few weeks....walked out...turned the key.....and it turned over again like a new battery......did this a time or two later after sitting several weeks again, same results....I had been buying a Group24 battery that fits the battery opening for a bunch of money...but have not lasted with my poor care......these $15 used AGM batteries, when I can find them, look to be a deal......cant guarantee you the same results....just worth exploring.......

I don't don't know if this means anything or not but I was using one of these to start the Kawasaki 440 in my plane and it worked like a charm. Had it mounted on it's side and never had an issue. I  bought them used out of another guys plane. Neither of them has failed yet.

I'm not saying they are better than anything but it's hard to argue with success.

The only down side I can see is you don't want to over charge then.

  • Absorbed glass mat technology (AGM)

Now I know what you were referring to. I guess we called them "gel cells or sealed lead acid batteries" The AGM is or was new to me.  :smilewink:

I had one in my B207 I sold a couple months back, which has only a small 7 horse Briggs. I started the tractor perhaps a time or two each month and the previous owner had used it frequently as a cart tugger. The battery worked great....and was dated 2004.
