Hind sight I wish I had moved the engine forward a couple inches.

Only for weight transfer. Drive shaft angel Is fine. I know you plan on getting it mobile and taking it to the shop for final mock up. When you do, pay special attention to the area of the C-Chanel you removed. A few well placed gussets and tie them back to the engine cradle, so you can use THAT lump, as a stress member, and she'll NEVER cause you an issue.

Looking GREAT. ! ! ! ! !

Just wondering here , when you have a longer wheelbase will that help when using a dirt plow or any rear implements ?  I guess the drawback would be a larger turning radius ?

Not only for weight distribution but steering column room is going to be another issue.

A larger turning radius and more stability. I think it makes a firmer stanced tractor. I think mine is 2" longer than a 1450 Cub. I wanted to leave room for any deck combination I may want to use down the road.

The drive shaft angle will work fine.  Glad to see a universal equipped shaft in there....much stronger & simpler.  So you're gonna make an angled box at the engine cutout in the rails?

Great read from begining to end! You must remember on projects like this, it usually takes way more time and money then first estimated. I know, For I have done a few, and am working on one right now. I used to work at a scrap yard, so many components got saved and stored for later use. Saves money but the wife hates it. Time is hard to find for me. I like the idea of the swelled frame for you will need shore that cut side up for strength. My GT17 Ariens is that way on both sides and it looks good. Good luck and can't wait to see it finished.

Life sucks sometimes. I had to put a water pump on the truck. I've also found out I've got a cracked head or a messed up head gasket. No funds for the gt and I won't have it done by plow day. :(

The 6.5 diesel. The truck needs alot of love. It's 20yo and sat for some time before I got it. I'm looking at a 99 Chevy but I'm worried about the 6.0 and fuel mileage.

what do you need the big engines for? I've got a 6.0L in my truck for pulling the jeep. I wouldn't want it for DD though. I can get 14mpg empty (running 65). I can triple tow my jeep and popup and get 8.5mpg (running 75mph).

I got a 05' 2500 with a Duramax currently.  Around town I get 18 mpg.  On trips I get around 24 mpg.  MUCH better than my 06' GMC 1500 with the 5.3.

The 6.0 and 410s scared me. I went with a 93 Chevy 4x4. Good ole 350
