Ok guys, I need a little help again.  I am in the middle building a new tractor and need the rite seat spring,  the one I have is out of a wheel horse RJ and is to tall.  I need a spring that will raise the seat about 3" give or take,  Can I get a little help, go and measure you machines and ley me know what will work for me, that way I don't have to buy a bunch of them to find the rite one.  As always thank's in advance.

The power king seat spring would work great but lower would be better, if I don't find another soon I will order one of those,  I found an mtd mastercraft spring on e-bay for a reasonable price but don't know how tall it is, it looks rite but not sure.  I sent the seller an e-mail but never heard back.  Thank's guys for the help

You can just cut the center section of the spring and weld it back together. I've done it a bunch of times. In fact the last two I cut were Wheel Horse springs.

Thank's Username, pm sent.  Welding the spring does not mess with the temper?? I would think it would loose its spring when you weld on it??  I was going to take the spring to work and put it in the press brake and compress it down to the size I wanted but I was concerned about the spring braking and flying around the shop :biting_nails:  I Don't want to get hurt!!!!!!!!

Thank's to all for the help.
