Do you wet the floor down before you paint on the dirt floor?

Looks really good.  01 on the side for sure.

Funny how lighting with change the hue of the paint. I deal with it regularly at work since we make pigments

Looking good though!!!!

No I haven't been wetting down the floor, it is asphalt millings not dirt, so they are not dusty.

It's starting to look like a car again! :rolling:

I got the doors put on today, I also got the rear fenders stuck on so I can clear coat it all in one go. I'm going to patch up the front fenders tomorrow and I'm also going to paint the hood brackets tomorrow too.

Starting to look like a super Beetle to me. One of the models that I didn't own. I like your choice of colors.

Thanks

There hasn't really been much to post about lately, but today I got the last patches done on the front fenders and I got them primed. I also put "body under coat" on the front wheel wells and fenders. I ran out of under coat but I will get more for the back fenders/wheel wells and the underside of the floor. I am hoping this will help prevent rust in the future, I don't really feel like doing this all over again in a few years lol.

I'm going to paint the fenders tomorrow and then the only thing left is clear coat YAAAAAAAA :rolling:

Got everything but the hood, front fenders and deck lid clear coated. :dancingbanana:

Also got the first coat of paint on the front fenders, I will get them finished tomorrow and let them sit for a few days then clear coat them along with the hood and deck lid.

I'm impressed with the clear coat because it smoothed out all of the little imperfections here and there. Once it's all done, I'm going to wet sand it all and then wax/buff till it's real perty

I also cleaned up the deck lid latch, one of the idiotic previous owners spray painted it with primer because I guess the one screw holding it on was to hard to remove :wallbanging:. Anyway, I got it all cleaned up and back to chrome, now I need to get some chrome polish, then clean up the bumpers, door handles, hubcaps and anything else that happens to be chrome :rolling:.

coming along, be ready to drive in the snow soon.  :poke:  :poke:  :rolling:  :rolling:

My neighbor works at a big car lot repair center, he's like the manager, but he does painting at home, he does killer work. Anyway, he has starting using some new clear. He said it lays down so smooth, he hits it with 3000 then buffs. He said it's amazing and a time saver.

WHAT? DRIVE IT????? I'm going to put a garage door in the side of the house so I can park it in the living room!, them maybe some lights pointing on it lol :D

The down fall is, we have no snow to drive it in, it just rained so our roads are terribly muddy, if I had it finished right now I still wouldn't be driving it. :wallbanging:.

I'm using MasterPro Urethane Clear, I'm new when it comes to paint ect, but it seems to work/look good.

Can't wait till I get it finished :deadhorse:

Got the front fenders finished and bolted on part way. I need to wait for the paint to cure on them so I can clear coat it and then the fenders come off again so I can put on the beading. I also set the hood on for a better picture .

Finally getting some time to finish the bug. The painting is completely finished and it's ready to stick it all back together. I need to adjust the hood because it isn't closing right. I also need to adjust the bumpers because they are on crooked. I'm going to rebuild the drivers door the first of the week and I'm also going to get the engine ready to instal. Hopefully it goes together as easy as it comes apart .           I ordered up some new running boards since they were missing, I also ordered a new interior kit which includes the carpet, headliner, door panels and seat vinyl (for seat reupholstering). I also got a set of new visors, the only thing I'm needing to replace is the rear view mirror and then the interior should be finished!.

Thanks

I got the 3 back windows in tonight, also got in the deck lid seal, the passenger door handle and the chrome strips on the sides of the body.

Any VW experts reading this? I am having trouble getting the hood mounted/adjusted, the hood needs to come further forward but it seems that I'm out of adjustment? any one have any ideas?. When I close the hood, the back of the hood is coming down on top of the body?.
Thanks for any info
