My MTD 990 came with two new front tires. My problem is they don't match. The one I want has been discontinued. They both still have the nubs on the tread area. The one I want is a Carlisle Super Trac II 16x6.50x8 NHS. The other one is still available it's a Cheng Shin Tire 16x6.50x8. I have searched & it looks like the Carlisle was a popular tire at one time but every link I find it says discontinued. Thanks!

Jim, the Carlisle part number was 591304.

It is NLA and probably impossible to find new.  It was a popular tire.  According to what I find, the Super Trac II was replaced by the Turf Saver II.  It is still available and the tread is pretty close, but no cigar.

However, if it is close enough to use, let me know.  I can get you a great price on it.

Maybe sell both tires on Craigs list and buy two new carlisles.

If I don't find one soon that's what I intend to do. Thanks

Ben I have the Turf Saver II's on my cub1250. I don't care for the round shoulder. There ok for the cub because that's my grass cutter. My next choice would be the Carlisle Turf Saver 4 ply. I'll let you know what I do. Thanks Ben for your help.

No dice on the tire.  Mine is a similar, but a Hi-Run knock-off.

I have the turf saver II's on my Sears, came with it. Plan to change them out someday, they have very shallow tread.

Good luck on your search Jim.
