Did the 990s have different deck mounting over the years? Could a unicos 42" swap with my farmking 50"?

My 76 has a scissors lift. The later ones had a quick disconnect. I'm not sure if they would enter change. I also think some had a square shaft
& some gad a keyed shaft. I'm sure some of our 990 experts will have better info.

That's a good question, I'd like to know also.

Mine must be the quick connect. Takes me 2 minutes to have the deck off and against the wall

The quick change decks were 42" and 50" as were the scissors style but they were not interchangeable.

I have a '76 deck manual that is still the scissors style so I assume '77 was the start of the quick attach decks.

edit: apparently the above isn't the case as several other MTD documents show '76 as the start of the quick attach system.

As far as the deck driveshaft interchangeability, a quick check of several deck manuals shows the same part number (717-135 or 717-0135) for all variations, 42" and 50", scissors and quick attach.

The information I have shows no 50" for the scissors style lift. You could convert the tractor to the quick change lift. The rock shaft would need the second arm to operate the lift carriage.

This is the problem.  The rockshaft on the earlier models has only one lift arm.  Also, I do not believe I have seen a 50" scissor lift deck.
