I found a guy that has an old Ride-A-Matic. 626 I think. He tells me that it is in all original condition. Paint and all. Also that it ran last year. But now he can't get any spark. What I need to k now is what kind of price range is this thing in.

The only RAM I have ever personally seen is at a small engine shop, the owner was a former Bolens dealer. He has a mint one with a deck, everything in good original condition and 100% functioning. When I asked how much, his response was my left nut. Considering I'm married and done having children, that puts the value around $150-$200, IMHO.

Being a mind reader, I can give you a heads up.

Gunstuff1000, Jerome and Bolens1000 both think a RAM is worth diddly-squat, and they will probably suggest giving it to them just to be philanthropic.

Just warning you.

:D

I've seen a very nice RAM sell for $200 with all original paint, running like a champ, with a couple attachments.  It was probably stolen at that price.

I've seen an ugly RAM with nothing but a plow sell for $900 at an auction with the belt guard missing.  Someone probably lost their behind at that price.

Those prices are really no help, but it does show the flexibility of the market.

Prices are somewhere between what he is asking and what you will offer. When you both agree to a price then that is what the price is and the range is what you two started at. Bottom line.

Seems like house flipping has entered in the Bolens arena and that doesn't settle well for the purists that use, maintain and fix their machines because they know the value of work they get out of them.

Good luck with your dealing.

The pain of removal is worth more than that.

This stuff is basically worth what you want to pay for it. I've seen some in good running condition, guard missing needing restoration for around $300. It all depends on how bad you want it and what it is worth to you.

He obviously placed great value on your left nut, but that makes me wonder why.
