This is not a real Craigslist find or a real eBay find, but I did want to let everyone know that I do know where a John Deere 322 lives in Harrisonburg VA that is for sale.

It has only 285 original hours on it.  It has a Yanmar 3 cylinder gas engine that runs smoother than silk.  It comes with a 50'' mower deck.  The paint has some scratches, but no abuse.  It was stored inside, and it shows.

I've driven it, and it is a cherry if there ever was one.

I am understanding they want $1895 for it.  If someone is interested, let me know and I'll put both you and the owners in touch with each other.

Best gas engine put in a GT, ever. Gas engine, diesel block, heavy as heck, smooth, quiet and fuel efficient.

That's all true.

I was impressed with the quietness of it.  High RPM sounds like the old wimpy propane forklifts, just a nice steady hum.

I was hoping for more torque out of it, though, but for 18hp it does beat the 318 Onan version.

And uses less fuel doing it, by a long shot.

PS - That isn't a lack of torque you were experiencing. You just thought it was since the decibal level was below 90. Running IH will do that to you.

If I could hear what you were saying, I'd respond by reminding you that anything Caterpillar made during the same generation of IH was probably 20 times louder.

Sounds like a great price. Less than 300 hrs is almost new. A really nice find for someone.
