Do I have to drain the hyd oil just to remove the filter? I have a 3014 Ingersoll. There seems to be a leak at the hose connection behind the filter.

Welcome to GTTalk. I'm not familiar with the Ingersol tractors. There are folks on here who will know th answer to your question. Until then, have a look at our manuals section. There may be a service manual that will give you the info. you need.

As JDBrian said you will find the manual you want as the 3000-4000 series operator's manual. If it's even close to the 500hr mark if your taking off the filter any way I'd go ahead and change it. Remember it uses high quality MOTOR OIL. I-m sure others will chime in to let you know what works for them.

I found the source of the leak. The oil filter rubs on a hyd fitting...bad design...I will put a rubber barrier next to the new filter to avoid another future mess. Thanx for your interest.
