As you know I have a versa-matic around 54-57. This one looks pretty similar to mine but the throttle setup looks different. I was wondering if the attachments would fit mine? I'm still new to this tractor so not really sure. Also, I think the price would be ok as there may be some spare parts there.

Here's a couple pictures of mine.

The one on Craigslist is a power ho it's a earlier tractor than yours an the attachments are not interchangeable the only thing that would come close is the cultivator but you would still need to have a versa matic tool bar to switch out the power ho version basically nothing parts wise on the tractor is interchangeable either

:ditto:

Like Aaron mentioned that is a power ho and most attachments will not interchange without completely changing the tool bar and hitch assemblys.

I have a few more questions as I take apart the tractor.

1. On the kill switch I see that someone mounted it on the chassis instead of where I've seen it on the handle bar. Any thoughts on this? I don't think this would be stock would it? They even made a mounting base to put it on.

2. When I hold the kill switch onto the handle bar it hangs over the rubber grip so that it would never kill the engine so I'm wondering if this is the wrong kill switch?

3. Maybe the kill switch mounts with the knob towards the front of the tractor?

4. What is this big round knob used for? I did not see much in the book about it.

As usual thank you all for your ideas and suggestions.

I can't help on the kill switch, but the knob is for the "patented Snap Hitch" for the front mounted attachments.

The kill switch was always on the handle bar.

Never ceases to amaze me the lengths some people will go to bypass a $4.00 part :wallbanging:

The original button was much smaller (I do stock them if needed)

As mentioned above the knob is for front attachments.

Excellent, I will be in contact with you about that kill switch. I'm guessing that the wire runs around the engine and up the handle bar?

Yes, there should be clips on the handle bar the wire/throttle cable goes through

Thanks, those clips are still there. I got a long ways to go on this as I'm just starting to take it apart.
