Hi Folks, I'm new around here.  Saw my first Power King last summer, for sale along the road, kinda peaked my interest as I'd never really heard of them before.  And I kinda get a kick outta older tractors, motors, and gas powered sharp things.

Anywho, this week I filnally got a PK.  Namplate on the clutch housing shows a serial number of 2047, which from what I read dates it to 1951? or no?  I realize the engine is not original, its a 12hp kohler model k301 I think, there is no nameplate on that.

Better late to the party than never, so I'll be poking around abit, and any info you might have on my new tractor would be appreciated....Mike

yeah thanks, I picked it up from a retired gentleman, that took it on trade from a buddy of his, apparently he's had it for just about a year before I bought it from him, I did have to give 750$ for it, so hope I didnt over pay tooo much.

Didn't look up serial, but see it has the Ford rear, so could be early one, yet that seams too early.  This is a real nice kept one and you should keep it that way. The early ones had Wisconsins and Briggs engines and I think the Kohler is by far the better engine, original or not. They went all Kohler later, not sure when that started. Has truck tires? looks like, but hey, they look new and aggessive tread!  Love that Power King decal on frame, kinda neat!  Really this would have been an Economy, Power King name came later, but same tractor.

thanks grumpy, besides the fella that I bought it from, I'm not really sure who/what/where it came from.  the guy I got it from was more into Pulling tractors....and really had some super nicely done up ones.

Cool thing is, whomever had it before, really did seem to take care of it.   The battery bracket hanging on the bottom of the frame looks nice, not just ratted together...and a few "custom" parts made in order to hook up the push button start, choke, and on off switch.

Need to do a bit of tweaking , cleaning on the carb of the engine still, but it does run, and pulls me around the yard, beer in hand, and thats kinda what I was wanting...lol
