On the front side of the firewall (engine side) on my JD 318 there was
some sort of insulating board , to help protect the battery from engine heat.
Checked with the JD dealer , it was about 75 bucks. I found some thin silver
reflective insulation at Lowes, but the package said not to use where the
temps exceed 250 degrees.
How hot does the engine compartment get? Will this insulation work?
If its not too hot in the engine compartment, maybe I could use the Lowes
insulation on both sides of the firewall?
