Not sure if the Unimog 411 technically qualifies as a GT but I hope that members will share in this over the next couple of posts.

To start of a short Vid on Youtube where I took it for a short spin. I am the one with the pipe :)

A cut-out drawing of the Moggies and an old pic when a similar Moggie was put to work in the filed

driving is o.K. but if you need a part, you'll be poor. Before I bought our JD 3120, my son and I were looking for a Mog - a rusty old one which had made winter service in D. The provider asked 9500 Euro. The canopy had dissolved in rusty old iron and the gear was broken. Repair parts cost near 15000 Euro, what means 20000 bucks, But you own a Mercedes!

I paid about $7 500 (at our exchange rate) for my 411.110. Jip part are a problem as only about 2270 ever entered South Africa. Currently we in the Unimog Freunde Club of SA know of a out 50 in fair condition. Parts get sold for scrap...

The oldest we have in the Club is a 2010. Dated around 1951.

But then I also have a 416.162 ex fire truck converted into a RV. Paid $17 000 for it. They go in fair nick for about $25-35k.

I don't care if it's a GT or not.  They are about the coolest truck I've ever seen.  I have always been fascinated by them.

I appreciate yours.  Thanks for sharing the video and the RV pictures.  Very Cool.   :dancingbanana:  :rocker2:  :rocker:

Nice trucks and very capable off road.

And if you drive, better wear long trousers... the engine is really "hot"
