Looking for a good Model 19, in running condition. Setup for starter generator would be a plus.

Thanks!
Josh

They have gotten very hard to find. I find 4- 23Ds or 243341s to each nonrunning 19. I have only found one running 19 and that came in a 725 I bought last year. I could use 2 more but I'm just going to have to wait. Maybe your area is better. Good Luck, Rick

I have maybe two or three or parts but not sure how they run.I know there were spark issues as they all have the magna-matic ignition.I think magna-matic ignition is an oxymoron.

yes it would, as the blocks are all the same. Whats not the same is usually the oil sump or base as some call it. the sears tractors uses one that unique to this tractor. if you have the original one, your good, if not its a crap shoot sometimes to get thing to work out right.

My VA has the 19D and the aluminum sump is the same as what is used in the rider 700/725, fuel tank is in place of were the starter/generator would go, change flywheel shroud, easy to convert for 700/725 if that is what Josh is needing the 19 for.

Good old Briggs is easily convertable for the Simplicity tractors,  swapped cranks out of the Allis B-10 original 23D engine into a 233431 engine block, the Domestic block is a little different having bushings instead of ball bearing and the crank case breather is via valve box cover instead of behind were the starter/generator mounts on the domestic engine but that does not bother me at all. The head is slightly different also seeing as it is for a fixed speed 3600 rpm generator engine, it does not have the low end power the domestic engine has, i was going to swap over to the domestic engine's head but then the engine started smoking, ring job is needed so i left it.

As Jeff said the sump has to be changed for the early Sears/DB Suburbans, i forget which one but one of Chuckle's Suburbans has a converted Simplicity 19D engine, took a while to find the right sump for it.
