picked this up in a package deal about a year ago with a 1650 cub cadet. I knew something was wrong with the motor when I bought it, its been sitting under a tarp since. thought I might sell it or part it out. my wife said NO!!! so I've been looking for a motor for awhile with not a lot of luck. about 2 weeks ago I picked up a cub cadet with a good motor in it and did a presto-chango. my wife couldn't be happier. I'm trying to figure out what year it is, can anyone help?? cat# 1691307, ser# 020104. here are some pics. this makes her 2nd tractor and wanting a bigger wheel horse.100_2954.JPG 100_2955.JPG IMG_1428.JPG

You might have better luck dating motor. These were made from 87 to 92 with the hood and lights my guess would be 90's model.

the motor that I took out of it wasn't the original. it had been put in by the previous owner.

Its in great shape! It is an earlier model...late '80's. The early ones had the exhaust exit through the grill. Later models had it exit through the LH side lower cowl.

If the wife wants tractors: give her tractors! Most guys will envy you that she has that attitude. Good Luck, Rick

don't really need another one. this one runs great now. need to do some work on the deck, the bearings are alittle noisy and the blades are shot. the power steering is really nice, the wife used it to mow with last week. says she likes it.

Cool. They mow nice. My cousins is ready to go. Everything works great. Yes the pwr. Steering is awesome. It rides so nice. Wish they would have put 26-12x12 wheels on them though.

Good save on the 1918. Good tractors and if the little lady is happy you've got the world by the tail.

My Wife has also been very accommodating when it comes to my hobbies. Has even asked and gone along on a tractor fetching trips. I'll be forever grateful.  :D
