I find it odd that the dash cowl on all the diesels is always broken. Both our ht20d and the hdt1000 were broken. The tach cable on ours was broke too.

...  I would bet there alot over seas but not many with those tractors would tern up to often on a mostly USA forum.  ...

I don't think that they sold all that many overseas either.  At least the guys in France and Sweden that I've communicated with say that they are rare there as well.

Figure that with the rate of exchange in those days, and then add in import tariffs, taxes, etc. the HDT1000 would have been an extremely expensive tractor in Europe, and very few would have been able to afford it.

Well I would not think bolens would just ship and sell 5 over there I would bet most were junked after parts were no longer around...

I don't find the broken dash to be odd.

Bolens 'went cheap' and replaced the older metal dash with the plastic dash, and they were very susceptible to breakage, especially when it got cold.

I replaced mine with a metal one.  Had to have a hole cut for the tach, but it won't come apart like the plastic one did.

The HT20-04 and up had a plastic dash you dont find many that the dash is not broke now a days.

Come on...nobody is saying that they sold that few.

I'm thinking that they would be similar to the HT20D here in the states.  Not sold in the same volume as the HT23, and the surviving numbers reflect that.

We don't consider the HT20D to be 'rare', but they aren't exactly falling out of the sky like leaves in the fall either.

My 1977 G10, and all of the 1978 G11s have the plastic dash, so that would fit the same time frame.

OK I have to ask what diesel does the HDT1000 have? is it liquid or air cooled? what hydro and is it a 2 speed? What is the total rated HP?

The HDT1000 is basically an HT23, so it has the Eaton 11 hydro and the 2 speed rear end

The engine is the Mitsubishi K3D, a 3-cyl water cooled diesel rated at 22 hp.
