I believe you can buy mounts like those from various sources. Check with our site sponsors for replacement mounts or used mounting plates. If that fails you can look on Ebay or McMaster Carr sells them but you would need to figure out what stiffness is needed.

Didn't know that 8's had a mounting plate with rubber ! On my 7, it bolts right on the steel frame. Could you or JD Brian post a picture of it, I don't have one, just wondering what it looks like. Noel

Yep, that was one of the changes made for the 8. It has 3 rubber mounts on it.  In the picture you can see it still on the engine, one mount on the back side of the plate and the other 2 which mount to a removable plate are in the lower right corner of the picture. This is my 8G before I rebuilt the chassis. I bought an engine plate and mounts from a MTF member back in maybe 2009 to replace the bad mounts on mine.

So does the 8 engine have a taller block than the 7, is that why the change ?? Thanks for the picture Brian. Noel

I think it may have been a vibration isolation issue. At that time many GTs were moving to more features and better comfort. The 8hp is an HM80 which is the same size as a HM100-10 hp so it's likely larger than the 7hp version. They could have accommodated the larger size without rubber mounting the engine.
