. 1700214 is the grommet number for the one on the throttle plate It's in the manual not sure maybe it doesn't appear in the late model manual but I know they still used a grommet cause one of my late models that's original has the grommet Also the original grommets have a rounded edge as well

 

It must be a early production thing

The Ridemaster's from 53' and up are not showing more than 2 of the 1700214 ..........

It must be a early production thing

. Does your throttle plate have a hole in the middle of it?

. Looks like you used a grommet then that would make 3 grommets used correct? One on throttle plate an two used on fender

FYI

 

My old 35AA-35AB book calls for 4 thats a typo because the photos show 3....

 

My newer book 35AB02-35AB03 35AB201-35AB301 call for only 2 on the wire holes.

Your 100% cant trust everything bolens had on paper.

 

I'll go look at my 35AB02 to see if any of them had 3.
