Hi. I have a 1966 sears suburban tractor that I am restoring. I am wanting to put new material on the b rake band as the old was worn through. Can anyone tell me what thickness and size I need?

I checked the manual section and there is nothing for my model number there. also, I checked online in a couple other places and checked their manuals. nothing was mentioned about the brake lining. I also checked back posts on this. found 2 threads about the time it took to pull rea end out to replace band, but nothing on the size of the band. went back 20 pages.

http://gardentractor...-i-think/page-4

Starting on page 4, at Post #50 (about halfway down) - Tahoe starts telling me how he rebuilt his brake band (picture of his with lots of c-clamps around it) and in Post #57 I mention exactly which friction material I bought, and from where, and the dimensions.  Starting on page 5, I post pictures of how I rebuilt my brake band.

HTH.

Tahoe is also working on a nice writup. Currently, he is waiting for a certain staff member to get a chance to read it thru.
