I need some spindle parts for our 60" mower deck. Does anyone know how carries parts for older A/C-Sim mower and GTs? I am looking for spindle shafts and bearings. The bearing I can match up t my local bearing house, but the hardened spindle shafts are another story.

This Spindle assembly uses needle bearings both top and bottom and the shaft is hardened to be used as the inner race. When I took the stamped steel housing out ( NOT CAST IRON) :wallbanging: , the lower bearing was all but gone and the upper shaft has a lot of wear on it and can't be re-used.

If none of our sponsors have them try the sponsors at www.Simpletractors.com. I've heard that Sandy Lake is good at finding things. When my time comes, I'll probably try making them from rod that I buy from Wholesale Tool, Surplus Center, or Bailey Sales. Good Luck, Rick

I work for a Simplicity dealer.  If you need parts, I can work with you.

If you can't find new, could the spindle be welded up and then turned down to the proper size? Just a thought.

I can't weld it up because it is used as the inner race, so it has to be turned ground and polished then heat treated. After the heat treat is finished I then would have to grind and polish it to the proper OD for the bearing to ride on. I may have to turn it down and use an hardened sleeve if I can find one that will work.

Hmmm...I'd try a want ad over on ST, or even your local craigslist.  You'd be amazed what you could come up with.
