Interesting...... Is it possible they just painted over a GE and slapped a wheel horse badge on it?

That's pretty much what Wheel Horse did with those tractors. I'm pretty sure Wheel Horse eventually bought out the Elec-Trak line from GE.

In 1974, about the same time that AMC took over Wheel Horse, Cecil Pond finished the deal buying out GE's Elec-trac Div.

As far as I know, the Wheelhorse electric GT's are far rarer. They are just red, instead of that cool mustard color.

You are correct,I just looked up in one of my books and it said that on July 23rd,1973,Wheel Horse had purchased the assets of General Electric's outdoor power products division and the new owner continued to produce Elec-Trak tractors with the Wheel Horse name on them until at least the late '70s.

Here is another one that was built by General Electric in 1973 and 1974 ,for Avco, who was better known for harvesting equipment.
