Just got back last night from a great week of vacation to the greatest place on earth (in our humble opinion). Crane Lake, Minnesota is the spot we love! It is peaceful, sparsely populated unmolested mother nature. Crane Lake is at the end of highway 24. The lake in the boundary waters canoe area and connected to many other lakes and a short trip on the water to Canada. The US customs office is about 100 yards down the road and the national forest ranger station and house is about 100 ft the other way. There is a seaplane base in front of the customs office. The planes are coming and going daily for fly in fishing trips to Canada. I am told the walleye fishing is great, the problem is I don't know how to fish for walleye, We fish from our kayaks and paddle just for pleasure and exploration. I am a bass fisherman. The cabin we stay in has no TV or radio. Our phones do work but we avoid them and play cards and games when weather keeps us in.
I now will be trying to catch up with GTT. I look forward to it! There is a lot to read after missing a week. This will be in between helping my wife with all the laundry and getting everything unpacked cleaned and put away. I also have all the fishing gear and kayaks to get taken cleaned up and stored, at least the kayaks, not mine or my wife's. We will paddle more this summer and fish too!
