I'm trying to think what actually would quality from the factory with all those rules?

I bet it is a big pile of Cub Cadets beating up the John Deere mowers.

Great.... another way to destroy vintage equipment! With the scrappers taking a fair amount of them already this just adds to the depletion of tractors left!

It's their tractor to do what they want with and will eventually make ours more valuable.

I've seen some Youtube vids of these demo derbys and most people use newer lawn tractors. They also vary a lot, some are heavily modded purpose built machines and others are very close to stock.

Been watching this for 3-4 years now and have never seen a "classic" being used/damaged.

At the risk of upsetting some on GTT, they usually use Murreys, Craftsmans, and the like.

Last year I did see a JD in the mix. Once some fellows had what looked like a Kabota GT in the ring. As it turns out, the mechanics at a Kabota dealer just painted and added decals to LOOK like a Kabota.

I would say those are more guidelines than rules. I've been doing derbies (cars and trucks) for many years and with what is stated above you can build a tank and will basically end up hurting someone bad because not everyone will build the same way. I have a few "box store" LTs laying around and if I was to build one to those rules I guaranty they wouldn't let me run it.
All I have to say is they better have an ambulance there and ready!

Lawn mower racing would be more entertaining to watch.

Yikes!

After watching that video I keep thinking about all the possible broken / crushed body parts and possible back injury's!

This is just pure insanity!
