No luck selling my MTD 990, SO, been thinking it would be neat to just roll it out in backyard, sprinkle a little gas around on it, and light it up!!  Would be neat fire for awhile. Wonder if gas tank would blow? Might have to empty that first.  Tires should burn quite awhile.  THEN, could take to scrapper and get at least a few dollars for the Metal!   Maybe I should Video this?

When you die from the explosion, I'll be sure to post your obituary up here so everyone knows why you haven't visited for awhile.

The 'grumpy' part will have to be assumed when he has no eyebrows.

If you only need a few bucks for it (scrap prices) then advertise it for that price and see what happens. Or better yet, just call the scrapper and be done with it. No singed eyebrows, no awkward explanations for neighbors and police/fire dept, no problem! Then you can get back to your normal background level of grumpiness and relax!

As a firefighter, I don't blame them. The amount of hazardous garbage in them, now into the air is over whelming.

You know, I'm not all that surprised you're having such a problem selling the 990.  I notice this time and again.  They seem to be on a lot of peoples' wish lists but whenever they come up for sale at a reasonable price, they don't sell or sit forever.  When I hung out on MTF there were at least a dozen people who claimed to be seriously searching for one.  They would make the normal "why does it have to be so far away" comments, which I understand, but then when one came up for sale near them, they weren't interested.  It must be an "MTD thing." :smilewink:

Don't try to burn anything!  A very stupid young man thought that it would be funny to throw a fireworks into a guys' bedroom in the middle of the night. The house caught fire and a nineteen year old girl died in that fire last week. That dumba** now is facing manslaughter charges. Don't go looking for trouble. It will find you anyway, so don't help it. Good Luck, Rick

Better yet, list it as "Rare" and "Collectible" and double your price.  Then let someone wheedle you down 40% on your new price for the WIN!

On New Years Eve, my friend and I drag an old Craftsman (MTD) up on top of a short semi trailer he uses for storage and pull it off at midnight. New Years Eve Tractor Drop!

If he sets it on fire he can list it as a well done tractor.
