Hello Everyone!  I hope that I have stumbled onto the place that can steer us in the right direction for what my dad may need to restore his 1949 (we are not certain of the year) Bolens Ridemaster Husky tractor.  It has been in our family for four generations and has been sitting in a barn for the past  40 years.  It has the original motor however, we are looking for overhaul parts for it (gasket set and mag).  He has painted the tractor and disc plow.  All original but had to replace tires.  We don't know the HP or the year.  We do know the motor is a Fairbanks Morse Type FM XD 181, serial no. 3476825.  The tractor is a Bolens Division Port Washington Division USA Food Machinery and Chemical Corp.  The Type # is 35AB30.  Serial # is R 152 14.  We are new to antiques and we don't know what direction to look in for further information.  We don't know what we have at our disposal or what the value of this tractor is.  He is so tickled to have it going again- a lot of sentimental value here.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Attached are two photos- a before painting (all original) and an after photo (awaiting motor repair/replacement).  Thanks in advance for any assistance and comments!

Welcome to GT-Talk.

That is a nice Ridemaster and interesting to know that it has been in your family for so long.

These tractors were made for several years and information available on the tractor serial numbers is sometimes misleading.

The Wisconsin engine should have a serial number tag on the flywheel air shroud.

Here is a link for looking up the production year of the Wisconsin engines.

Just type in the serial number of your engine and it will tell you the month and year that the engine was made.

That is about the best way to tell what year your tractor is.

We have two members here, (  gunstuff1000  aka: Aaron & wilberj  aka: Jerome ) that are very knowledgeable on these Ridemasters and they can answer all you technical questions.

"We do know the motor is a Fairbanks Morse Type FM XD 181, serial no. 3476825. The tractor is a Bolens Division Port Washington"

The engine should be a Wisconsin and have a tag on the front cover. Fairbanks morse is the mag manufacturer. Not sure if the serial numbeer is the mag or engine but if it came from the same plate as the FM XD 181 its strictly for the mag

PS: Welcome to the forum!!
