Ah, so I forgot my thread.

'Scuze me.

I'll blame Brian of Bolens1000 fame first.  He procrastinated my project for about a week or so while he did a top notch job of making perfect paint.

Then I blame myself.  I got tied up in other things and the poor old Bolens was set aside.

Then I blame the decal department, since it is technically done but waiting on decals.

I have pictures.

Are you showing us? Or are you giving it back before you show it off?  I got a call tonight reminding me about Bridgewater's lawn party and tractor show.  What are you showing off yourself this year?  I am not sure I will make it.  Still not walking to far.

These were from the weekend, just to tide you good folks over until I get a chance to post all the in betweens.  I think I can show everyone how the guts of a Handi Ho works.

Tonight it has everything in place but a belt.  :dancingbanana:

We should be able to go for a ride tomorrow if all goes as planned.

I think Brian's paint mixing was excellent.

That truly is a wonderful green, i have always seen these and other Bolens restros in the slightly darker typical hunter green but this is like a Apple green with a bit of a snap ! great job Brian

Can't wait to see it together, engine looks fantastic :dancingbanana:

This is a very close match to what Bolens used, hopefully the word will spread and we will start seeing less and less of the dreaded Hunter green used :D

Looking forward to seeing it assembled as well.
Looking at all that overspray... Have you taken the time to figure out how long you'll have the green boogers?

I had Bolens white boogers for almost two months, so its hard to tell... :rolling:

Actually that is the dreaded John Deere green.  I sanded down a Deere tractor hood and the vacuum on the sander decided to go to pots.  I just haven't cleaned up the premises.

Dangit Ben, quit trying to jump into what I am collecting over here, I don't need the competition!!!! I actually have 3 over here, the original one my grandfather bought new in 1951 is the same as yours, then I picked up the deluxe from a distant cousin, and then another deluxe came from the base of the mountain on your side that I needed for parts but was to nice.

I used John Deere green but it was to dark, but the yellow (think safety yellow) looked to be very close. I am really wanting to find the original ball end grips, the ones on Ebay are expensive and not very nice.

I don't have pics of the standard here at work. I have also since picked up chain gaurds for all, but need one more of the depth wheels. I have my original, but it was mowed at some point.
